🌱 Feed the Bench: Building Your Digital Presence with Purpose
Every problem I’ve ever solved — whether in ministry, business, or technology — begins with research and discovery. I don’t just jump to solutions; I observe patterns, ask questions, and explore what people actually need before I build or recommend anything.
That same mindset applies when we talk about creating a digital presence. Because before you decide where to post, what tools to use, or which strategy to follow, you first need to understand one thing: your audience.
Who are you trying to reach? Where do they spend time online? What do they need help with?
That’s the foundation of what I call the Sowing Seeds System — a simple way to identify your community, show up consistently, and grow your influence online.
🌾 What Is a “Bench”?
Imagine your audience sitting together on a park bench — relaxed, scrolling, observing. That bench represents the space where your target audience naturally spends time.
In digital terms, your benches might be:
Instagram, TikTok, or Facebook for consumers
LinkedIn, Tribe Network, or Obsidi for professionals
YouTube or Fanbase for creators and educators
Wherever your people gather — that’s your bench.
Once you’ve identified those benches, your next step is simple: feed them.
That means showing up consistently with valuable, relevant content — posts, videos, newsletters, or stories that nourish your audience and invite engagement.
Because the more you feed your bench, the more they respond — and the algorithm rewards that consistency by introducing your content to new viewers.
🪴 The Sowing Seeds System
The Sowing Seeds System is how we turn visibility into connection.
It begins with understanding your audience’s pain points — their needs, frustrations, and goals. Once you’ve identified what your people are searching for, your content should clearly demonstrate three things:
You know the problem.
You have the solution.
You have fruit — results or proof that it works.
This sequence — Problem → Solution → Proof — is how your audience learns to trust you.
When they see your consistency and credibility, they’ll start taking action on your offers.
That’s when the bench begins to move.
đź’Ś A Real Example
This year, I launched four newsletters on LinkedIn — one each for Health, Tech, Personal Branding, and Financial Literacy.
Every week, I share content within those four pillars. And with every post, LinkedIn pushes my newsletters to new subscribers who share similar interests — a look-alike audience.
That’s the digital version of sowing seeds. Each post is a seed. Each newsletter is water. And over time, the harvest grows through consistency.
đź’ˇ The Tools That Help You Feed the Bench
To get started, you’ll need a few digital essentials that make your presence work for you — not the other way around.
Here’s my starter stack:
1. Digital Business Card
Paper cards get lost or damaged. Blink lets you instantly exchange contact info by scan — and updates automatically when details change. Perfect for networking events and conferences.
2. Bio Site
Think of this as your mini-website. It’s a beautiful, visual landing page that can host your booking link, offers, and paywall. Every social media profile you own should point here.
3. Kit CRM
This is your back office in one place. You can manage leads, send emails, sell digital products, and automate communications — all from one user-friendly dashboard.
4. ManyChat
While you rest, ManyChat responds. If you tell followers to comment or DM a keyword, this tool sends your link, freebie, or message automatically — 24/7 engagement without you being glued to your phone.
These are the same apps I use and teach inside the Digital Readiness Program on the Purpose Playground.
🧠Building Your Digital Foundation
Before investing in a full custom website, take advantage of the no-to-low-cost tools that already help you build visibility:
✅ LinkedIn profile — to establish your authority
✅ Google listing — to appear in search results
✅ Bio Site — to share all your offers
✅ Kit CRM — to manage and nurture your leads
✅ ManyChat — to automate responses and increase conversions
Once your digital benches are established, you can scale into a branded website or funnel with ease.
🌱 Keep Feeding the Bench
Digital growth takes patience — but it rewards consistency.
Every post is a seed. Every comment, a connection. Every click, a potential conversion.
So don’t stop showing up. Keep serving, teaching, and sharing your story. Because when you feed your bench faithfully, someone will get up — and take action.
They’ll join your program, book your service, or become your next brand partner.
That’s how seeds become harvests. 🌾
